近三四十年来,中国国家与社会的关系备受海内外中国研究的学者关注。二十世纪九十年代初,在国家—社会的理论分析框架下,一方面,企业成员通常运用体制外非正式的私人关系应对国家的统治,理论上称之为“垂直庇护主义”;另一方面,国家也通过各种正式结构边缘,或者以外的组织实现对企业的统治,理论上称之为“社会主义法团主义”。国家和社会中的个体都在玩“小动作”。但是,西方理论只能从表面上对中国社会进行切割式的描述,要动态地分析中国国家—社会关系及其成因,迫切需要中国本土化的理论。
